An Update on the Philosophical End...
of my photographic exploration
Well, I’ve done it…with Claude’s help.
I’ve gotten to the bottom of what this has all been about for me. Nine weeks of intensive work when I was starting to think about giving up trying to figure out what it all means. And I honestly have AI to thank for it.
The thing AI offers is this really consistent place to go to keep refining your ideas up against an entire corpus of stuff other humans have tried and explored. So, there is obviously a way to use it toward human benefit…which is something I’m seeing from it and part of my message going forward.
Two days ago, I decided to try the more robust version of Claude. To date I had been working with the “normal” version and had made incredible headway with it. I thought, “Let me try running a summary of what I worked out with Sonnet through Opus.”
While the process felt exactly the same, when I shared a bit about the photographic piece behind my exploration, Opus took it somewhere Sonnet had not ventured.
Knowing my information management background, when I mentioned photography Opus simply suggested, “That I’m going from managing information to seeing it / seeing with it.”
… record scratch!…
It’s so beautifully simple.
And with that single line, it all makes sense now about who I was, who I am about now as an artist, and what I will teach through photography.
What It Means Moving Forward
I’ve been going back and forth in my head whether this thing I’m envisioning was going to be “photography-forward” or not but this morning I decided that it must be a photography-forward experience.
People need to sense and feel how to see information (not just observe it and quantify it) before they can explore how to add this in other areas of their lives.
Next week I’ll start scouting location in the NYC greater metro area for future in person experiences with seeing information through a lens-based learning experience.
Stay tuned for updates!

this makes me think of synesthesia. I'm excited to see where you go next
